About

Hello and thanks for visiting our website.

My name is Matt Vaughn, myself and the love of my life Susan are the new owner of Clock Crazy Clocks of Homosassa.

How my passion all started:

As a young child my mother used to hold me up to the fireplace mantel and let me crank up the 150 plus year old family clock, its a true jewel to our family. The 1880 EN Welch 8 day gingerbread clock chimes daily and that now sits on our mantel handed down to me after her passing.

The clock was pulled from the attic of the family barn in Canada then restored in the early 1970’s. It has been in my family nearly a 150 years and counting.

As time passed and I became a young adult and after my mothers father, my grandfather passed in the late 80’s i purchased a small anniversary clock in his memory, i still have it.

I have always loved antiques and have been told i’m an old soul. Thru the years of my early to mid twenties clocks came and went, buying and selling a few in local antique stores when cash was tight or was good. I then relocated to southern California and worked in a career that allowed me to travel often to many other states and locations, i soon found myself once again collecting the beloved treasures that i found in antique store and swap meets.

My collection grew and my passion to dig in and learn the inner workings of the clock. I spent many days and nights working on them and soon found a senior experienced clock repair man in Apple Valley, California near my home at the time, we became fast friends and seen my desire to learn the skill of clock repair. He welcomed me in his antique store and his home and show me countless hours of the skill of clock repair and also how to date and value antique clocks. I in turn helped him build and maintain his antique store website.

I think about him often as he has passed on now”.

My passion grew as did my collection, after moving to Homosassa Florida 10 years ago, I discovered the clocks shop in Howard’s flea market, I became friends with Bill and Rick the two owners that started the shop 10+ years ago, they both seen my passion much like their own. We talked a number of times about the shop and their desire to soon retire. This winter we set the gears turning in the purchase of the shop. I have a undying passion for the clocks and will truly put every care in effort into your special clock to help you preserve it for generations.

We are located in a independent air conditioned full service shop in Howards Market in Homosassa, Florida. Unit ED-11

We offer house calls to service that special clock that you dont not wish to risk the trip down to visit us, or maybe its a Tall case Grandfather or Grandmother clock that are to large to bring to us or to heavy to transport.

We are happy to schedule a home visit and service the clock on location in your home or business.
